I’ve known John since the early 90’s and interfaced with him through the years with regards to the software we purchased from his company. I got to know John when he was CEO of IQS and found him a thoughtful executive who was able to explain complex technology and software issues in a succinct manner. For a young business journalist, it is refreshing to have someone like John take the time to slow down and ensure you understand the processes and how things worked. In the years since then, I’ve found John to be a truly innovative and strategic thinker who is customer-focused on everything he does.

John id the go-to expert in the enterprise-level quality management field. His always-open-door policy and ability to translate complex theory into bite-sized, easily digestible laymen language made for great customer presentations that seconded as learning experiences for all of us who were selling the IQS product. I have known John personally and professionally for the past 20 years. I worked directly with John Cachat through proposal, selection and implementation of APQP to AS9145 requirements utilizing the CTS software he developed and licensed through Cyient. John is truly a subject matter expert who provided excellent guidance and assistance to help establish a robust foundation for APQP deployment. I have worked and collaborated with John through multiple ASQ and AIAG projects for over 10 years. Most recently, John led the AIAG Core Tools Software (CTS) team of which I was a team member. John effectively led this very diverse group of subject matter experts (with lots of opinions!) through the successful design, development and launch of the CTS. He was thorough and inclusive in his approach to this complex system. When answers weren't known, he triggered global surveys to obtain feedback designed with the Voice of the Customer in mind.  

John was hired to provide software solutions consulting on a warranty business process improvement initiative. He was able to connect with a diverse group of engineering, quality, operations, and IT leaders. He challenged our conventional thinking, provided insights on the latest solution models, and assisted us with building a sound business case for the enterprise future state system
